About the job

Kynikos Waste Management is looking for 5 event support staff for a private gala in Austin. One night, straightforward work, professional environment. You'll be keeping a 200-guest event clean and running smoothly — clearing plates, managing trash, and maintaining guest areas throughout the evening. Show up on time, in uniform, ready to work, and you'll do great.

Event details

  • Date: May 9, 2026

  • Location: Austin, TX (venue details provided upon hire)

  • Shift: 4:30 PM – 10:00 PM (arrive first, depart last)

  • Pay: $15-17/hr · based on experience - paid after event completion as 1099 Contractor

What you'll do

  • Pre-event walkthrough — locate dumpsters, service exits, trash stations, and supply storage

  • Clearing plates, cups, and food waste from tables as guests finish

  • Running waste to dumpsters through service exits — not through the main event space

  • Wiping down and maintaining tables, walkways, and service areas

  • Taking direction from the on-site lead and staying in your assigned zone

  • Ensure trash stations are emptied before reaching 2/3 capacity all night

  • Conduct a final sweep of all areas before staff departure at 10:00 PM

  • Confirm close-out with the venue contact before releasing staff

What we're looking for

  • Show up on time — 4:30 PM, in full uniform, no exceptions

  • Professional and calm in a formal setting around dressed-up guests

  • Able to stay on your feet and keep moving for 5 hours

  • Takes direction well and communicates with the team lead when needed

  • No experience required — if you're reliable and presentable, we'll work with you

  • Familiar with table service etiquette or event floor operations (preferred)

Uniform (provided or required)

  • Black polo shirt (Kynikos provides)

  • Black dress slacks — no jeans or leggings

  • Black closed-toe shoes — no sneakers

  • Black gloves (Kynikos provides)

  • Hair contained, minimal jewelry, no strong fragrance
